No of Char slots 4 or 6? GW Support has an interesting answer
While trying to resolve an access key problem, I asked the following:
If I buy the retail version that is reserved with my
pre-order, can I install the retail key on a different
account than the pre-order key is installed?
PlayNC response:
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes! You can apply the retail access key you obtain to a new account, to a pre-order account, or to an existing Guild Wars Prophecies game account.
Keep in mind that creating a new account or adding it to a pre-order account will NOT result in 6 character slots. That feature is only available to Factions keys that are added to Prophecies game account and vice versa.
This post was ment to provide additional information about Factions. I guess I didn't present it well.
I believe [Loviatar] has summarized the issue very well in the post following the next.

My original question to GW Support was:
I purchased my pre-order copy of GW and added the key to my account.
Then I realized that I don't have any free slots. So I decided to create
a new account and add my pre-order key to the new account. I went to
remove my pre-order key from my original account, but I don't see an
option. I am not about to delete one of my L20+ characters to play
Factions. You guys need to re-think this whole account situation. Because I
also have L20+ chars in friends accounts that I would like to a new
account. You could make money just moving chars between accounts. I would pay for this considering how much time I have invested in the game.
Guess I will go and buy another pre-order copy and when the game comes
in I will just purchase one copy. Then the other copy will sit on the
shelf reserved for me until the store releases it. In fact, since your
support is always so uncooperative, maybe I'll just not even purchase
Factions and continue to play the original.
I was disappointed with the beta release. I didn't see any real
improvements in this release, just new maps. So what's the point.

Speedy, if that really is the e-mail you sent them.
You are 1 of the most ignorant people I've ever seen on these Forums, and I'm not going to say anymore.

That's nice of you to point out.
I was asking the question because I didn't want to *assume* something before I spent $49.99 on a lame upgrade.

I thought this was unnecessary, and did nothing but confuse the issue...
(why care about extra slots when you don't apparently like Factions at all?)
It reminds me of the old couple eating at the restaurant:
"This food tastes terrible."
"Yes, and such small portions, too."
(I'll let that sink in for a minute)

speaking of a food analogy i am considering GW to be a hearty stew with chunks in each chapter i will love/hate/unnn whats this/ ok
instead of throwing out the whole bowl i will find the chunks i like and ignore the rest and have fun.
is reasonable?
